For schools and universities

Educational institutions

For educational institutions the manufacturer has a separate licensing scheme – Campus licenses. You pay not for each computer separately but for a range, and within the institution the program can be installed as many times as needed.

Two options

For schools

Campus License – School

The bundle includes FineReader PDF Standard for Windows computers and FineReader PDF for Mac for macOS computers.

Price tiers by number of installations: 5–50 and 51–500.

For universities and colleges

Campus License – Uni

The bundle includes FineReader PDF Corporate for Windows computers and FineReader PDF for Mac for macOS computers.

Price tiers: 501–2 000, 2 001–4 000 and 4 001+.

In both cases software maintenance and version upgrades (Software Maintenance and Upgrade Assurance) are included – you use the latest version and get technical support from the manufacturer.

How tiered pricing works

The point

You pay for the tier, not for copies

  • The tier price covers the whole range
  • Whether you install 60 or 400 copies in the 51–500 tier
  • No need to count licenses for each classroom separately
  • The tier can be changed the following year

Term

Annual subscription

  • Campus licenses are sold on a subscription basis
  • One-year subscription, renewed annually
  • Version upgrades are included in the price
  • Manufacturer technical support is included

Important restriction

Institution computers only

  • Installation is allowed only on computers owned by the institution
  • Transfer to third parties is not allowed
  • Installation on students' personal computers is not allowed
  • This is the manufacturer's condition, not our rule

Why schools and universities need it

For lecturers and teachers

Teaching materials from paper

Scans of textbooks and articles become searchable PDFs and editable files. Student papers can be commented on and returned digitally, without printing. Documents can be protected against copying and editing.

For researchers

Searchable archives

Scans of scientific articles and old publications become searchable digital documents. File size can be reduced and scan quality improved. 198 languages are recognized in any combination, with separate support for old European languages and Gothic fonts.

For accessibility

For students with visual or reading difficulties

Documents can be saved in the PDF/UA standard, designed for screen readers, text-to-speech and magnification software. A scanned textbook without a text layer is just a picture for such a student – after recognition it becomes readable text.

For administration

Documents for archiving and order

PDF/A standard for long-term storage, watched folders for batch scanning, centralized license management and mass deployment over the network.
